Outside of work, you probably spend most of your time at home, right? Then why not make sure your home is setup so that you can get the most of your computer, gadgets and electronics. From getting your wireless Internet signal properly pushed across your entire home to streaming your iPhone music and videos directly to your HDTV, we can make it so that your people say “How’d you do that!?” when they visit your home.
Home networking is a vast topic and includes many different areas of technology. Here’s a short list of some of the more common home networking solutions we provide:
- Setup and configure a wireless router with wireless security to ensure that no one else can access your Internet connection. For a small additional fee, we can also turn on advanced security features like MAC address filtering, network isolation and more.
- Connect a non-wireless device like a Blu-ray player, game console, printer, TV, or PC to your wireless network.
- Remove wireless dead spots in your home by installing and configuring a range extender or range booster for your wireless network. If you have additional network ports in your home, we can also configure a secondary wireless router to extend your primary wireless network.
- Configure your network so that you can share music, videos, and files with other computers and devices like smartphones and tablets over the local network. We can also help you if you want to stream content from a PC, tablet or smartphone to your TV. Imagine wirelessly streaming a song from your smartphone to your home theater speakers while walking around your house.
- Configure your router so that you can access a home computer or device such as an IP camera or NAS (network attached storage) unit from outside of your home. This is great if you want to monitor your home while you are on vacation or if you need to access some files that are stored locally on a home computer while not at home.
- Share a printer over your network and install it on multiple Windows and Mac operating systems. We can also assit in being able to print directly from a smartphone or tablet to a printer (printer must be able to connect to the network via wired or wireless connection).
We can also perform a whole host of more advanced setups depending on your networking needs. For example, if you have a TV in your living room that has an Ethernet port on the back, but don’t have any Ethernet ports in that room, you can use your home’s existing electrical wiring with Powerline adapters to connect the TV to your home network.
